KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A suspect in a stolen vehicle case is receiving treatment after suffering an apparent overdose.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department deputies located the car in the Sprinkle Road/Lake Street area at around 12:20 p.m. Sunday, after learning it had been taken from a business on Gull Road.
The suspect led authorities on a very short chase before crashing near Lake and Olmstead, and fled the vehicle.
The suspect entered a van nearby, and upon being discovered by deputies, was found to be unresponsive.
Treatment with NARCAN at the scene was successful, and the suspect was taken to an area hospital.
Kalamazoo Township police, the Michigan State Police, and a Kalamazoo County K-9 unit assisted in the incident.
