LANSING, MI — Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson is expected to be in her Lansing office on Monday morning after spending a restless weekend at her Detroit area home. Benson says she was unmoved by several dozens of armed protesters outside her home in Motor City Saturday night. She says the demands made through bullhorns were “unambiguous, loud, and threatening,” and while they targeted her, “they were aimed at the voters.”
Benson says the protests happened as she and her four-year-old son were wrapping up decorating and preparing to watch “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” She adds she is dedicated to protecting the right to vote, and that is not changing.
