BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Battle Creek Police have released the name of a woman who died in a suspected drunk driving traffic crash early on Thanksgiving morning.
The victim was identified as 59-year-old Letitia Whitlock of Battle Creek.
Police say she died in the crash at Yuba and Main Streets.
Whitlock was a passenger in a car driven by a 59-year-old Battle Creek man which went out of control, struck a guy wire to a utility pole and rolled over.
Whitlock was later pronounced dead at Bronson Battle Creek hospital.
The driver escaped injury but police say his blood-alcohol level was more than double the legal limit. Battle Creek Police are still investigating the crash.
