BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB/WNWN) – It’s one event that will not be stopped because of COVID-19. The annual Battle Creek International Festival of Lights is now underway in the downtown area.
The lights and decorations will be up through New Years as they have for almost 30 years.
Youngsters can drop off their Letters to Santa at red mailbox outside of the Welcome Center.
Sadly, the annual Battle Creek Christmas Parade which was scheduled to take place last Friday had to be called off because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It has been put on by the Harper Creek Optimist Club for the last 41 years and always coincided with the start of the festival.
Organizers are planning for the parade to return in 2021. The proposed 2020 Theme of “Unmasking our Christmas” will carry on as the 2021 theme.
