LANSING, MI — The need for food, shelter and clothing has never been greater across the Lansing area because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Salvation Army Red Kettles are now in place at a variety of locations across mid-Michigan.
The Salvation Army Capital Region is asking for help to rescue Christmas for the most vulnerable this year. The non-profit organization helped nearly 2,400 families through its Christmas Toy Shop last year.
The challenge this year they say is fewer retails stores are hosting Red Kettles, which results in less foot traffic. In addition people carry less cash on them limiting their ability to make a spontaneous donation.
It’s easy to set up a virtual red kettle on social media to allow friends and family to support your fundraising. Get information on how at www.SALansing.org.
