KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – College kids not heading home for Thanksgiving will still get the chance to enjoy a holiday meal, thanks to Broncos Kitchen, a hunger-relief charity servicing Kalamazoo area college students.
Broncos Kitchen will serve a Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. this Wednesday, November 25 at their Wesley Foundation meal site located at 2350 Ring Road North.
This year’s menu will consist of roasted turkey, tofurky, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet corn, green beans, cranberry sauce, dessert, and bottled water. Dinners are served in a carryout format. Face masks and social distancing protocols will be strictly observed.
Although the program is free and open to the general public, college students are encouraged to RSVP on the charity’s website by noon Tuesday as meals are served on a first-come, first-served basis.
Broncos Kitchen is a nonprofit corporation established to combat hunger on Kalamazoo’s college campuses. Since June 8, the hunger-relief charity has served more than 1,800 free dinners to students from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo College, and Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
A Free Christmas Dinner is planned for Thursday, December 17.
