LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 64-year-old Kalamazoo man who was convicted of killing three women in 1972 while he was a teenager has been granted parole by the Michigan Parole Board.
Brent Koster pleaded guilty of one count of 2nd degree murder in the deaths of Linda Clark and Claudia Bidstrup, and served 48 years in prison.
Koster was eligible for parole due to the lifer law in Michigan.
He will have to be on parole for four years and register as a sex offender upon his release in January 2021.
Kalamazoo County Prosecutor Jeff Gettings said that he could not recall another prisoner with the history of violence that Koster has being released, and that his office will look into any possible options it might have.
