PENNFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A number of teens in a stolen vehicle led police on a short chase that ended in Pennfield Township Thursday.
Officers with the Battle Creek Police Department attempted to make a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle out of Kalamazoo County. The vehicle sped off and a short pursuit was terminated.
A short time later, Deputies with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area of Limewood Apartments in Pennfield Township after they received information that the stolen vehicle was in that area. The vehicle was located and five juveniles from Kalamazoo were found at a nearby apartment.
The juveniles were found to be within the ages of 13 and 16 years old. Two of the juveniles were on probation out of Kalamazoo County.
All of the juveniles were released to their parents or legal guardians.
Officials with the Battle Creek Police Department say they are going to seek charges against the driver in the incident.
