MANISTEE COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Tuesday, MLive reported that a Portage man has died during a hunting trip, likely due to a health issue.
According to the Michigan State Police (MSP), 61-year-old Gregg Salisbury was reported missing 8 p.m. Monday while hunting in Manistee County.
He was found dead by a DNR conservation officer near a friend’s home around 10 p.m. According to police, it appeared that he had shot a doe and died while retrieving it.
No foul play is suspected. His family and friends told police that he had a history of medical issues, which are believed to be a contributing factor.
