WAYLAND, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Monday, the Wayland Police Department announced that a Grand Rapids man has been arraigned in a case involving the unlawful discharge of a firearm.
Police say the incident occurred on November 1 in the 2500 block of Toronto Trail, where officers were called on a report of shots fired into a residence.
Upon arrival, officers found several shell casings, along with several apparent bullet holes in the residence.
No persons were struck or injured in this case.
A subsequent investigation helped Wayland Police develop a person of interest, identified as 24-year old Grand Rapids resident Rodney Sylvester Davis Jr.
He has since been arraigned in Allegan County on the following charges:
- Intentionally Discharging a Firearm at a Dwelling, punishable by 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine,
- Carrying a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, a 10-year felony, and
- Aggravated Stalking, a 5-year felony.
Wayland Police remind residents that all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.
