Spain’s Santander plans to cut 4,000 jobs in Spain, sources say

MADRID (Reuters) – Spain’s Santander plans to close up to 1,000 branches in Spain and cut up to 4,000 jobs, or around 14 percent of its total workforce in Spain, two sources with knowledge of the matter said.
The news was first reported by the state-owned news agency EFE.
Santander declined to comment.
