KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo Public Safety officers have released a composite sketch in the stabbing of an elderly man earlier this month following an attempted robbery on the city’s eastside.
First responders were called to the 900 block of Charlotte Avenue between Center and Bridge Streets around 4:45 p.m. November 5 and located a 71-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds.
The victim was reportedly approached by an unknown suspect who demanded money. When the victim refused, he was thrown to the ground, search by the suspect, then stabbed several times before the suspect fled.
The victim was transported to Borgess Hospital where he was treated for multiple lacerations. He remains hospitalized in stable condition.
The suspect is described as a black man, about six feet tall, wearing a black hoodie with the hood over his head, dark pants, and a gray face covering hiding his nose and mouth.
