MASON TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that an attempted U-Turn in the early morning hours of Wednesday resulted in a crash.
Around 4:19 a.m., deputies were called to the intersection of Cassopolis Road and Starbrick Street on a call of a personal injury crash.
Police say an Elkhart Indiana resident, Avery Rickey, was attempting to do a U-turn on Cassopolis Road and got stuck on the roadway. Rickey was out of his vehicle and trying to get it unstuck when a second vehicle heading north ran into it.
The driver of the second vehicle was a Bristol Indiana resident, identified as Shannon Pedrotti. Pedrotti had minor injuries and was transported by SEPSA EMS to Lakeland Niles for treatment.
Seatbelts were worn, and alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor.
