PENNFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Police says a dispute over a malfunctioning television led to shots being fired in Calhoun County’s Pennfield Township Saturday night.
Deputies with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 19000 block of McAllister Rd in Pennfield Township for a domestic disturbance involving gunshots being fired around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.
After investigating, it appeared the husband and wife got into an argument over a television not working properly. They say the female then retrieved a firearm and fired one round in the direction of the male. A struggle ensued over possession of the gun and more gunshots were fired. The weapon was eventually secured, and no one was injured in the altercation.
A 66-year-old Pennfield Township woman was taken into custody and lodged at the Calhoun County Jail for aggravated domestic assault.
