LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Hundreds of supporters of President Donald Trump protested at the Michigan Capitol Saturday, claiming a rigged presidential race that led to Joe Biden’s election as the next president.
More than 500 people stood on the steps and packed the Capitol lawn waving Trump flags, wearing Trump hats and shirts and holding signs protesting shortly after former Vice President Joe Biden was projected to win Pennsylvania and the presidency.
Several dozen Biden supporters stood nearby, urging the group to accept the election results.
Trump’s supporters said they believe election fraud put Biden ahead of Trump. They demanded a stop to the “steal,” calling on legislators to investigate voter fraud allegations.
The Michigan House and Senate Oversight Committee Saturday issued a subpoena to state election officials as Republican lawmakers launched an investigation of what they say are possible election irregularities in Michigan.
Biden won Michigan by more than 150,000 votes, according to unofficial results.
