MONTEREY TOWNSHIP, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) — UPDATE: Police have located and arrested the suspect in this shooting. Police say the suspect’s vehicle was located crashed into a tree in the area of 134th Avenue and 24th street in Grand Rapids.
Police add that suspect information will be released once formal charges are made and an arraignment has been completed.
Meanwhile, the victim has been identified as 35-year-old Cody Cline from the Allegan area.
The case is still being investigated at this time.

The search is on for a suspect in a fatal overnight shooting north of Allegan, in Monterey Township.
According to a statement released by the Allegan County Sheriff’s Department, deputies and first responders were dispatched to a home near the area of 130th Avenue and 30th Street just before midnight on Monday. Sheriff’s authorities said they found a man “lying in the driveway that had sustained a possible gunshot wound and had suffered obvious fatal injuries.”
Witnesses at the scene said that a person who had visited the home had shot one of the residents outside and then fled. Information about the suspect and the vehicle used in the flight has been sent to other law enforcement agencies, but no arrests were immediately made.
“This is an ongoing investigation and we are very early in the process,” the statement added. “It does not appear at this time that the general public is in any danger; however, we are actively trying to locate the suspect that was identified.”
