LANSING, MI — The Michigan Supreme Court did not respond to a request from Attorney General Dana Nessel to review challenges to the legality of Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s open carry ban on Election Day.
That means the ban is not in place as the refusal of the Supreme Court to hear the case means the Court of Appeals decision stands.
Benson says regardless of the legal setback, voters can be confident in their safety at the polls today. The polls across mid-Michigan are open until 8:00 p.m.m tonight.
