AHL pushes start of hockey season back to February 2021

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WTVB) –  The Grand Rapids Griffins and the rest of the American Hockey League will not begin play until February 5, 2021.

Yesterday, officials announced the league is moving the start of the 2020-21 season from December to February due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Grand Rapids Griffins are the AHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings.
