WAYLAND, TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – One man is dead and another injured after a rollover crash in Allegan County’s Wayland Township early Sunday morning, Oct. 25, 2020.
Police arrived in the area of 129th Avenue and 12th Street to find the crash, and two men who appeared to have been ejected from a car.
According to the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office, CPR was attempted on the driver, but he died from his injuries at the scene. The second man ejected in the crash suffered non-serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
Police say the car was travelling north on 12th Street when they failed to yield at a stop sign at the 12th St and 129th Ave intersection. It then drove through the intersection and hit a guardrail, causing the car to go airborne and the driver and passenger to be ejected.
Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash, according to police.
The name of the man who died was being withheld until family is notified. Police believe both men involved are from the Grand Rapids area.
