ANN ARBOR, MI (WTVB) – Despite a two-week stay-at-home order for students, the University of Michigan is still planning to open the football season in Minnesota Saturday.
Washtenaw County issued the order to try and reduce an outbreak of Covid-19 cases at the school. U of M officials say they are planning to continue to practice and play games as scheduled under the direction of their medical experts.
Testing began in June on nearly 11,900 student-athletes and staff members, and there have been 104 positive reports.
