LANSING, MI — Shut down since March due to COVID-19, many movie theaters around Michigan are reopening today.
NCG Cinemas in Eastwood Towncenter in Lansing Township reopened with midnight showings of several movies early this morning. Regal Theaters in Lansing Mall has not announced any reopening plans after its parent company said earlier this week it was closing over 500 theaters for the time being and would reconsider its options at a later date.
New movies are rare as Hollywood also shut down, but Aaron Sorkin’s “Trial Of The Chicago 7” will be among the movies showing at most theaters. Theaters are limited to no more than 20-percent capacity.
