LANSING, MI — The Michigan Republican Party is trying to call ballot security into question with a September 25th video in Lansing of an unlocked drop box.
Secretary of State spokesman Jake Rollow called it “irresponsibly spreading misinformation,” while Lansing city clerk Chris Swope says they didn’t even send out ballots until the 26th. Swope says what was in the box isn’t a ballot.
Republican Party chairwoman Laura Cox said the video prompted other clerks in the state to respond and say unsecured boxes jeopardize the security of the election.
