LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The Michigan Department of Transportation is hosting a virtual career fair to fill a number of jobs.
It will take place Tuesday, October 6, from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Registration is open online here.
MDOT partnered with the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity to give prospective candidates a chance to meet with MDOT staff via online chats or video connections, to ask questions, and learn about current and future career opportunities.
State transportation officials are looking to hire 100 temporary winter maintenance workers in all regions of the state. The minimum requirement for these positions is a valid Michigan Class B commercial driver’s license. Other training will be provided. This is considered an entry-level job, which could lead to future full-time work.
The state has opening for electricians, internships (including veterans, engineering, and Transportation Diversity Recruitment Program positions), transportation engineers, transportation maintenance workers (seasonal and full-time), transportation planners, transportation technicians, and other skilled trades and professional positions.
Candidates can review the openings, which are updated daily, online at Michigan.gov/MDOTJobs. The virtual career fair is open to all experience levels. Hiring requirements are based upon the individual position.
