LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) – Voters in Michigan will be asked to make several choices during the election, with one of them a proposed constitutional amendment that would require law enforcement authorities to have a search warrant to search a cell phone or computer.
The US Supreme Court ruled in 2014 that since such devices contain sensitive information, having a warrant is necessary.
If approved, the state would join 12 others in having such a requirement in place.
