KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) announced Monday night that two people were injured in a motorcycle-involved vehicle crash.
Just after 9 p.m., officers were called to the area of South Westnedge Avenue and Whites Road on a call regarding the crash.
Upon arrival, the driver of the motorcycle was found to be suffering from severe injuries, while one of the five occupants of the vehicle was suffering from minor injuries.
The motorcycle driver, a 19-year-old Kalamazoo resident, was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is listed in critical condition. The injured person from the vehicle was treated on scene and released.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this incident, but police noted that speed appears to be a factor, according to witnesses.
The crash is still under investigation at this time.
