The Big Ten has reversed course and announced it plans to begin a fall football season the weekend of Oct. 23-24 with each team playing an eight-game schedule.
The conference said its Council of Presidents and Chancellors voted unanimously to restart fall sports just over a month after the Big Ten pushed them to the spring due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The move comes after the decision to postpone fall football was met with backlash from a few league members and a number of parents of players on member teams.
