KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — UPDATE: WWMT reported Monday evening that St. Joseph County prosecutor John McDonough has turned himself in following an arrest warrant issued for violating his bond conditions.

Monday, WOOD TV and WWMT reported that St. Joseph County prosecutor John McDonough is facing accusations of violating his bond.
This comes after McDonough was accused of drunk driving after crashing his vehicle into a fence earlier this year.
He was later arrested and taken to the St. Joseph County Jail for operating while under the influence of alcohol and for having open intoxicants in his vehicle.
However, a 911 call McDonough made to dispatchers that night had him claiming the crash was caused by a coughing fit.
That event, coupled with multiple complaints regarding his job performance, resulted in calls for his resignation from other officials.
News outlets reported Monday that he has since been accused of violations of his parole. No information was made available on exactly what the violations were, but McDonough had been ordered to stay away from bars and other businesses that mainly sell alcohol.
He was also ordered to not purchase or consume alcohol or other illegal substances.
As a result of the bond violation, Judge Vincent Westra of the 8th District Court has issued a bench warrant for McDonough’s arrest, WWMT reported.
Meanwhile, McDonough has been defeated in the August Primary by Republican David Marvin, who will be taking the position this November.
