KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety officers are reporting a house fire on the city’s Northside.
It broke out around 8:30 a.m. Monday at a home in the 1300 block of North Church Street near the intersection of West Paterson Street.
When crews arrived they saw smoke coming from the eaves of the home. Firefighters entered the residence and located flames in a second floor bedroom and attic space. It took them over an hour to bring the blaze under control.
The Fire Marshal’s office is looking into the cause of the fire. Fire officials and neighbors tell WWMT that the family did make it out safely and no injuries have been reported at this time.
West Paterson Street was blocked off Monday morning as crews worked to extinguish the fire. No other details have been released.
