KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) -The Kalamazoo Deptartment of Public Safety is continuing its investigation into a shooting incident Friday night in the Edison neighborhood.
Officers on patrol in the area of Portage Street and East Stockbridge Avenue heard about 12 shots at around 11:30 p.m. and then received a report of shots fired in the 1400 block of Portage Street.
Upon arriving, the officers found evidence of a shooting but no victims.
A short time after, two people showed up at an area hospital with apparent gunshot wounds.
The 27-year-old and 17-year-old Kalamazoo residents’ wounds are not life-threatening at this time, and a suspect is being sought.
