KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — One person is injured and a suspect is in custody after a stabbing near downtown Kalamazoo.
It happened in the 600 block of East Michigan Avenue just before midnight on Tuesday. The victim told public safety officers that an argument ensued between a known acquaintance and that’s when the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the face multiple times.
The victim was taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities were provided a suspect description, searched the area, and quickly located and arrested the 50-year-old Kalamazoo resident. The suspect is now in the Kalamazoo County Jail awaiting arraignment.
No names or any other details have been released at this time It’s unclear what prompted the stabbing.
