MILWAUKEE, WI (WTVB) – Victor Reyes fell a triple shy of the cycle as the Detroit Tigers tamed the Milwaukee Brewers 12-1 Tuesday night.
Reyes finished with four hits and five RBI as Detroit’s offense stayed hot. Grayson Greiner and Cristin Stewart also left the yard for the Tigers, who have won six straight. Michael Fulmer gave up three hits while striking out six in a three-inning start, while Daniel Norris picked up the win in relief.
Josh Lindblom pitched five innings of four-run ball to fall to 1-and-3 for Milwaukee. Christian Yelich homered to prevent the shutout.
In tonight’s series finale, Spencer Turnbull takes the mound for the Tigers and the Brewers send Adrian Houser to the hill.
The season could be over for Tigers outfielder JaCoby Jones after he was injured in last night’s win over the Brewers. Jones was hit by a pitch in the eighth inning and suffered a fractured left hand. Last August he broke his left wrist when he was hit by a pitch against Kansas City.
Jones has five home runs and 14 RBI while batting .268 this season.
