Consumer trust of farmers remains high during the pandemic. That’s the conclusion of a just-released national poll of more than 1,100 consumers from Charleston Orwig. More than half of those surveyed said they trust farmers either a great deal or completely. At the same time, nearly half of the survey group were concerned about the U.S. food supply chain. Seventy-five percent say they are concerned about catching coronavirus when grocery shopping while just under two-thirds find grocery shopping frustrating to some degree. Finally, the survey discovered most consumers are concerned about the safety of food industry workers with over 23 percent identifying themselves as extremely concerned.
