MOTTVILLE TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that suspect is in custody after a police chase Monday.
The department reports that deputies were dispatched to the Mottville Township Marathon gas station on a report of a disorderly subject. Soon after, a speeding vehicle was located traveling westbound on US 12 from Vistula Road.
Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on this vehicle, however, it took off at a high rate of speed on US 12 into Cass County.
It was eventually stopped on US 12, west of South River Road. The driver, a 32-year-old male from White Pigeon, was taken into custody. This man was later confirmed to be the suspect from the previous complaint of a disorderly subject at the Marathon gas station.
Charges are currently being requested for Fleeing & Eluding, as well as a charge of Operating While Intoxicated (Second offense).
