ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that one suspect has been arrested on several charges following a police pursuit.
On Thursday, August 27, deputies attempted to stop a speeding vehicle on Mintdale Road near Lutz Road. The driver refused to stop and led officers on a chase where speeds exceeded 100 miles per hour.
The pursuit ended near Engle Road and Mintdale Road after the vehicle lost control and crashed into a ditch. The driver, identified as a 27-year-old Constantine man, was taken into custody without further incident.
He is currently lodged at the St. Joseph County Jail on the following preliminary charges:
- Fleeing and Eluding,
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon,
- Possession of Meth,
- Possession of Burglary Tools,
- Possession of a Police Scanner while committing a felony,
- Felon in Possession of Ammunition, and
- several outstanding arrest warrants.
The case remains under investigation at this time.
