KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A family is displaced following a house fire in Kalamazoo.
Public Safety officers along with the Kalamazoo Township Fire Department were called to the 100 block of Prospect Street near Grand Avenue in the West Main Hill Neighborhood around 1:15 p.m. Friday for a report of a house fire.
There they found smoke coming from the eaves of the residence with the flames eventually spreading into the attic.
West Main Street was closed at Hilbert and Prospect Streets for about four hours as crews continued to battle the blaze.
The home had been evacuated before firefighters arrived and the Red Cross is now assisting the family. Nobody was injured.
