KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — One suspect is in custody and another is at large after a shooting on Kalamazoo’s Northside.
It happened just before 10:30 a.m. Friday in the 500 block of North Park Street near Willard Street. When authorities arrived they found a gunshot victim who was transported to a local hospital and last listed in stable condition.
One suspect was located several blocks away but the second suspect is not yet in custody.
KDPS is looking for a 24-year-old black man, about six feet tall, with a slim build, wearing a white t-shirt, white shorts and white shoes at the time of the shooting.
A wheelchair was used by the suspects at the time of the incident, but it was found abandoned near the shooting location, according to the press release.
This is the second shooting reported on Kalamazoo’s Northside on Friday. Another occurred in the 600 block of Florence Street near Burrell Avenue around 12:30 a.m. One person was injured and there is no suspect information at this time.
