KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety officers are searching for two suspects after shots were fired not far from several children on the city’s Southside.
It happened around 2:15 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of South Burdick Street and East Maple Street, near Bethany Reformed Church.
Several witnesses reported that two suspects fired handguns at a house near the intersection and then fled in two separate vehicles.
This was the same house that had been struck by gunfire less than a month ago and authorities say a woman and three children were across the street selling candy when the shooting occurred.
Nobody was injured during the incident. Officers searched the area but the suspects were not located.
Authorities believe one of the suspects is driving a silver Chrysler 300 and the other had a red Dodge Charger with black racing stripes on the hood. No other suspect information has been released at this time.
Anyone with more information should contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at 269-337-8120 or Silent Observer at 269-343-2100.
