KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo man is being formally charged for making a threatening Facebook Live video.
On Saturday, Kalamazoo Public Safety officers were alerted by community members regarding a Facebook post where the suspect was threatening violence on a Kalamazoo neighborhood in retaliation for a shooting that occurred the prior day.
Detectives investigated the threatening content and on Wednesday they secured a warrant for the suspect’s arrest and apprehended him later that day.
On Thursday, 26-year-old Jhontae Jamison of Kalamazoo was arraigned for making terrorist threats and for using a computer to commit a crime. He is currently being lodged by the Kalamazoo County Sheriff Office.
In a press release, KDPS said that they appreciated the community members that alerted them of this criminal activity. No other details have been released.
