KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is investigating two shooting incidents that occurred on Friday.
The first involved a 26-year-old man who arrived at a Kalamazoo hospital just before 6 p.m., suffering from a gunshot wound. He underwent surgery and is currently in critical condition. A suspect is being sought but no information is available.
The second incident had officers respond to multiple reports of gunfire in the 500 block of West Paterson Street near North Westnedge Avenue just after 9 p.m. They found the shooting scene but no victim. A short time later, a 22-year-old man appeared at a Kalamazoo hospital, suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
