KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A 30-year-old Kalamazoo man is recovering from a gunshot wound suffered early Saturday morning on the city’s Northside.
Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers were patrolling in the area of Woodbury Avenue and Florence Street at around 3:30 a.m. while “addressing crowds, fights and quality of life concerns generated by mobile nuisance parties,” according to their press release.
As they were patrolling they discovered a large group of people. The group was uncooperative when asked to disperse, and shortly after their arrival, officers heard gunshots.
Authorities found the victim in the 800 block of Woodbury. He was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers say at this time no additional details are available. Anyone with any information should contact KDPS at 269-337-8139 or or Silent Observer at 269-343-2100.
