BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Battle Creek Fire Marshal is looking into the cause of a fire at a vacant structure.
Crews were called to Whittier Avenue near Harrison Street just before 5 a.m. Thursday. When they arrived they found the rear of the structure fully involved.
First responders searched the home from the unburned side and did not find any occupants. The fire was under control in less than 20 minutes.
Nobody was injured and the cause is still unknown. This comes days after a massive vacant house fire destroyed several homes in Kalamazoo.
No other details have been released at this time.
