PORTER TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a driver crashed his vehicle after a bee in the vehicle attempted to sting the driver.
Around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, emergency responders were called to US 12, east of South River Road in Porter Township for a report of the crash.
The driver, identified as a 17-year-old male from Jones, MI, said that he had lost control due to a bee trying to sting him.
As a result, the driver left the roadway and struck a tree. He was extricated from the vehicle by rescue personnel and transported to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment.
A report of his injuries and condition were not immediately made available.
Police add that alcohol and drugs were not factors in this crash, and the diver was wearing a seat belt at the time.
Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
