KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety officers are searching for a driver after a woman was killed in a hit-and-run on the city’s Northside.
It happened around 9:45 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of Ada Street near North Westnedge Avenue.
First responders were called to the scene where they found a 46-year-old Kalamazoo woman injured in the roadway.
Life saving measures were attempted but the victim was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The victim has since been identified as Anita McClendan.
Very little information about a possible suspect has been released at this time. It is believed that the at-fault driver was in a black SUV.
