KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Southwest Michigan baseball team is searching for it’s newest mascot as they prepare for a busy season.
The Kalamazoo Growlers have announced that they are looking for candidates to portray Porter, the costumed bear that entertains fans of all ages at games throughout the summer.
Team officials say that the job requires someone willing to attend every game, be outgoing with the crowd, and have a knack for entertaining and getting along with children.
Porter, named after the variety of beer to honor Kalamazoo’s craft brewing scene, has represented the team since joining in 2015.
Those interested in auditioning can do so at Homer Stryker Field on Tuesday, March 3rd.
