KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — UPDATE: The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety has issued an update into a shooting that occurred in Kalamazoo’s northside neighborhood on Tuesday, February 18.
Police say that the victim has been identified as a 22-year-old Kalamazoo man who was transported to a local hospital by ambulance for non life-threatening injuries.
Police say that a male running from the area holding a handgun was apprehended shortly after the shooting. The subject was arrested and police were able to recover the firearm.
At this time, detectives are investigating to see if this suspect, a 24-year-old Kalamazoo man, is involved with the shooting.
He has been arrested for Carrying a Concealed Weapon and for outstanding warrants.

One man has been injured following a shooting in a northside Kalamazoo neighborhood.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded after reports of gunfire around 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18th at North Church Street near Prouty Street.
Officers say a man suffered non life-threatening injuries resulting from a gunshot, and that an active investigation is underway into the events leading up to the incident.
