KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners has voted to re-elect Vice Chair Tracy Hall.
During the first County Board meeting of 2020 on Tuesday night, members of the board were orally nominated for the position. The nominees came down to a choice between Hall and Commissioner Michael Seals.
Hall was nominated by Commissioner Michael Quinn while Seals was nominated by Commissioner Roger Tuinier.
“[Hall] has very consistently over the years modeled peace and respect on this board,” Quinn said.
Ultimately, Hall was nominated in an 8-3 majority vote. Following the vote, Hall issued a statement.
“I’m definitely humbled and at a loss for words,” Hall said. “Genuinely, from the bottom of my heart, I am certainly humbled. I had no idea how today would go, so I just wanted to thank all of you for your support. We balance each other in certain ways, and I am looking forward to continuing that down the road.”
Hall also noted that she understood why Seals was nominated, saying she respected him.
