MATTAWAN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Southwest Michigan school district is asking for the public’s input during its search for a new superintendent.
The Mattawan Consolidated School District is holding several forums on Wednesday, January 8th to hear public opinion, describe the search process, and present online surveys available to district parents.
The series of presentations are scheduled to take place at Mattawan High School for 8 a.m., 1 p.m., 5 p.m., and 6 p.m.
The event is being organized by Rider Educational Consulting, which is involved in the selection process for the superintendent.
The search process began in November after superintendent Robin Buchler told the school board she would be retiring after serving in the role since 2015.
School officials say that Buchler’s replacement is expected to start overseeing the district on July 1st.
The district is encouraging partents, students, and local residents to take part in an online survey that will help in the superintendent selection process.
The survey will be available on the district’s website from Monday, January 6th until Friday, January 10th at 4 P.M.
