BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Police in Battle Creek are pressing charges against the girlfriend of a suspect accused of shooting a police officer last weekend.
Andre Yarbrough is accused of shooting Officer Jeff Johnson. Originally, Police were looking for Yarbrough because of outstanding warrants. Police located Yarbrough after a 12-hour search following the shooting.
Now, the girlfriend of Yarbrough, Heather Arredondo, is facing charges of her own.
Arredondo had an arraignment in court on Wednesday, Dec. 4th. She is facing charges relating to obstruction, harboring a fugitive, and more.
It is unclear whether Arredondo was at the first or second house where Yarbrough was seen.
She is currently held on a bond of $50,000.
Meanwhile, Officer Johnson is expected to make a full recovery. A donation campaign has been set up to help with his recovery.
