DETROIT, MI (WTVB) – The final goodbyes will be said today to the longest-serving African-American member of Congress in history, as the funeral for former Congressman John Conyers will be held at Greater Grace Temple in Detroit.
A pair of public viewings for Conyers were held over the weekend at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.
Conyers died last Sunday at the age of 90. He served 53 years in the U.S. House before being driven from office by sexual harassment allegations in 2017.
