RICHLAND, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Luke Bryan is coming back to Richland.
After the rained-out show on September 27th, the Richland Township Board of Trustees approved that they will bring Bryan’s Farm Tour back to Stafford Farms on Thursday, October 24th, the day before he is scheduled to play at Ford Field.
They’re hoping this time it will run smoother and the weather will hold up.
According to Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller, many people who attended did not follow posted guidelines.
“A lot of signs and a lot of maps were put out, but people generally don’t follow them,” Fuller said. “They’ll type in the address on their phone and expect to be able to follow that and not the maps that we put out there, and so we found a lot of people trying to go the wrong way. We’re gonna work to help people understand that, but honestly when they start looking at their phone, they’re not paying attention to anything else.”
Traffic and pedestrian congestion also caused issues.
“People thought that they would walk in from all over the place believing that being out in the middle of the country was not gonna be a problem,” Fuller said. “The two-lane roads are an issue for people trying to walk along those roads when there is traffic lined up on both sides of the road trying to figure out how to get someplace.”
Some citizens also tried to travel by Uber, despite a posted notice that no Uber or other rideshare apps would be allowed to travel to the show.
“Two of my officers found people walking from the farm, they were headed to a hotel down on Sprinkle Road, which would have been about a three hour walk in that rain,” Fuller said. “They had planned on taking Uber, which is one of the things we told everybody. There would be no Uber service because they can’t do that.”
According to Bryan’s website, refunds for those unable to attend can be requested by emailing Support@bigtickets.com and will be available until 6 p.m. on October 7th. No more refunds will be processed after that time.
All other tickets and parking passes will be honored at the rescheduled date.
